New AHK Forum Software
« on: October 27, 2012, 05:48 PM »
They were down for site maintenance.  Then next time I went there I did a double take!! I thought I was on the AutoIt3 Forum!!

http://www.autohotkey.com/board/

http://www.autoitscr...com/forum/index.php?

It's bad enough I edit both languages with SciTE4_yaddayadda but now I have to keep looking at the logo before posting. Make sure I'm talking about the right language. :)

The good news is the forum no longer requires gyrations to paste a link into some text. Has the standard link button in Editor thingy.

It's quite an improvement!

The other thing is you can get to Advanced Search in the expected way. No need to have a "secret shortcut" to the old advanced search panel. Now I can delete that dial from my Speed-Dial 2. :)

So.  Much.  Wasteful.  Whitespace.

Of course, I realise that everything seems to be moving to a touch-friendly layout but it's soooo wasteful for desktop environments.  In addition to all the extra scrolling, I find it more difficult for my eyes to quickly scan through a list of topics that I'm interested in.  Does anybody else feel this way?

skwire is right.

They must have thought of touch but it is very difficult now on a desktop monitor.

Hope they make something like GMail 'Cozy' or 'Compact' option, so that both touch and non-touch are happy. Developer will still have to use the mouse-keyboard option for their bread and butter.

Regards,

Anand

I wonder if they're hinting at Au3/Ahk merger? Or maybe they just got a big discount?  :)

I'm already used to AutoIt forum so it's no biggie for me. Main thing was messing with cookies because that login doesn't seem to work that well with LastPass.

The glitch I've noticed is, when you post using code tags the script is double spaced. To grab a script you need to use an editor that has a Delete Blank Lines feature.
