A Hack Attack to Scare You - Badly

Well, one wouldn't think that a hacking incident could cause you to soil yourself, but one would be wrong. :P

Hackers linked to China’s government broke into one of the U.S. government’s most sensitive computer networks, breaching a system used by the White House Military Office for nuclear commands, according to defense and intelligence officials familiar with the incident.

One official said the cyber breach was one of Beijing’s most brazen cyber attacks against the United States and highlights a failure of the Obama administration to press China on its persistent cyber attacks.

 :o

A while back a friend asked me about creating some protocols and infrastructure for secure communications. Attacks would be fully expected. From a state. A rather well known one. I told him to forget it and just keep things offline as much as possible. Guess I was right. :P

The official described the type of attack as “not infrequent” and said there were unspecified “mitigation measures in place.”

It isn't as sensational as it seems- not related to actual launch codes, but rather towards the "nuclear football", i.e. the C&C and COG during times of nuclear crisis.

Either way, whether or not he's got morning glory, the Emperor still has no clothes! :)
