This should kind of shake things up a bit:

Tesla Motors Launches Revolutionary Supercharger Enabling Free Long Distance Travel

Today Tesla Motors unveiled its highly anticipated Supercharger network, which is said to make long distance travel in cars totally free thanks to the use of solar energy and electricity. So far the network is made up of six Supercharger stations stretching across California, as well as parts of Nevada and Arizona. These stations will allow the Tesla Model S to recharge for free, and each charge is said to last for an extremely long distance. This is so groundbreaking because until now one of the major drawbacks to electric cars was their inability to travel long distances on a single charge.

The next few months are going to be really exciting - we've got more news coming soon about the Supercharger network as well as updates surrounding our retail and service center expansion. We’re actually opening almost twice as many service centers this year as we are stores. I look forward to sharing more info on that subject very soon.

TESLA MOTORS LAUNCHES REVOLUTIONARY SUPERCHARGER ENABLING CONVENIENT LONG DISTANCE DRIVING
DRIVE THE MODEL S ELECTRIC CAR ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY ON PURE SUNLIGHT FOR FREE

Tesla Motors (NASDAQ: TSLA) today unveiled its highly anticipated Supercharger network. Constructed in secret, Tesla revealed the locations of the first six Supercharger stations, which will allow the Model S to travel long distances with ultra fast charging throughout California, parts of Nevada and Arizona.

The technology at the heart of the Supercharger was developed internally and leverages the economies of scale of existing charging technology already used by the Model S, enabling Tesla to create the Supercharger device at minimal cost. The electricity used by the Supercharger comes from a solar carport system provided by SolarCity, which results in almost zero marginal energy cost after installation. Combining these two factors, Tesla is able to provide Model S owners1 free long distance travel indefinitely.

If that isn't simply 2 steps beyond uber-cool, I don't know what is.

Tesla needs a goddamn museum~! ;)

I've always liked these guys for breaking the green cars have to be neutered mold. The Tesla is flat-out fast with a 0-60 time in the 4sec range and a top speed of 130mph ... Now that is a proper car! The completely castrated, vomit worthy Toyota Prius and idiotically dangerous "Smart" cars that makeup the classic 'Green Mobile' are just gay hippie fashion statements.

They are really living up to the name Tesla- especially since one of his last projects that wasn't complete was wireless energy.
