Torque 3D to be Released on Github under the MIT license!

Eleven years ago, The GarageGames founders did an incredibly innovative thing when they sold a full source game engine for $100. We are excited to continue in their footsteps by announcing that we will be releasing Torque 3D as the best open source game technology in the world. Once again, GarageGames will be changing game development.-http://www.garagegames.com/community/blogs/view/21876

Wow. Reading through there, they have a very cool business model going. I hope it all works out for them! :) (If it does, then it works out for everyone!)

Deozaan:
And it's official. The engine has been released:

The day you’ve all been waiting for has arrived. The MIT licensed version of Torque 3D is now available on GitHub. For those that just want to jump in and fork or download the engine, the links to the two repositories on GutHub are listed below. Just promise to come back and read the rest of the blog, OK?

Torque 2D is going to be joining Torque 3D as an open source game engine:

GarageGames is Proud to Announce Torque 2D MIT!

What is Torque 2D MIT?
Torque 2D MIT is an all new, open source, version of our 2D game development software. Following in the footsteps of Torque 3D, which went open source a few months ago, Torque 2D MIT will be available under the same (very permissible) MIT License very early next year.

It's more than just an open source version of Torque 2D!
Take Torque 2D, combine it with iTorque, add in Box 2D physics, several major enhancements and bug fixes, and make it open source. That is Torque 2D MIT. -http://garagegames.com/community/blogs/view/22062
