Please (oh please!) let this be a joke...
« on: August 21, 2012, 12:46 PM »
From The Verge:

The "Who's Your Daddy" RV is looking to make DNA paternity tests a bit more of an impulse purchase. The colorfully-wrapped vehicle attracts fathers who aren't certain that the child in their hands is their own, and after a $299 to $575 purchase, a quick cheek swab, and a three-day waiting period, they can get the answer.

And the New York Post, Rupert Murdoch's bastion of superb US news reporting,  :P has a related article here.

You can already do this.  What's so different other than the packaging?

Sad thing is that they need to create doubt in order to make sales... that'd be a hell of a marketing angle

Is your wife distant?  Have you found clothing that you can't explain?  Does she smell like male aftershave, which you know is not yours?

Well...Chances are, shes cheated on you...So if you have a child together, Why not make sure the lying bitch didn't make you raise someone elses baby, telling you it was yours?

Go on, prove that bitch wrong with "Don't trust yo' biatch, DNA sampler"

Only $4,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999.28 (ext TAX)

Now I really wanna record that lol

But the picture alone is still funny.

Not to the woman and her husband.  :(

If she sues/sued the HP, she may very well laugh all the way to the bank. :)

Except they always leave out a detail.

Her husband had been home about 5 months prior because he had been given leave, and the baby was conceived during that time.

People just forgot to mention that fact, and assumed that she had been out cheating.

Although these days with people that you wouldn't expect getting caught left and right with their pants down, I could see such a low cost service being highly popular as long as it is actually accurate.

When it comes to emerging tech, William Gibson said it best: "The street finds its own uses for things."
