Huh? Really? New version of Chrome can WATCH and LISTEN? http://www.theregister.co...rome-watches-and-listens/Version 21 of the browser offers users the chance to allow Chrome to monitor their activities with a PC's camera and microphone. Isn't this just a little bit creepy?

How else are they going to get enough research data to develop the coffee mugs that display contextually relevant advertising based on your real life conversations with friends, family, and co-workers?

I can see public school administrators once again salivating at the possibilities.

If you don't like it, just put up a mirror facing the camera and let Google reflect on that!

So basically you can now embed webcam and microphone support without Adobe Flash. Well at least the Register had a misleading article to match the misleading headline. That's worth something.

I'm not so sure about that: http://www.html5rocks.com...rials/getusermedia/intro/This tutorial introduces a new API, navigator.getUserMedia(), which allows web apps to access a user's camera and microphone. Looks about right. If the application can access it, well, that's game, set, match.

You are actively pressing record for the purpose of uploading it to the site. Haven't you seen the little Flash dialog where you can tell it to enable the microphone or webcam?

[ Insert Hot girl Image here ] Press anywhere on the image ad www. xyzabcefg.com ===========Ads by Google=== Guess it would give all the chrome fanatics time to spit shine their new Chrome.. browsers that is. One a serious note, I am not sure if schools would want to use Chrome since it pretty much can change the way it functions with every beta.. uh new release. Fricking nightmare if last month the version worked fine for some online test and next month (new release of chrome) the same online test site is now deemed incompatible/insecure/inwhatnot for Chrome but works fine on IE 7/8/9 and Firefox ESR.
