How blood sugar monitors work?

Does anyone know how blood sugar monitors work? I have read some online articles but couldn't understand completely.

How do they absorb glucose from blood?
How does glucose convert into electronic signal?
How does the meter know the amount of blood to calculate the mg/dl?
