Explode a portion of a video in multiples images

I am looking for an utility to identify a portion of a video file (one second of his duration, one minute....) and be able to create so many screenshots as desired contained in the lapse.
Was is the velocity to create video ? How many images for second ?

Until the moment I have found two

1. Adobe Premiere

2. VirtualDubMod

and PresentaVid Video To Images 1 seems to be dissappeared and undownloable :-*

IainB:
You can use VLC to step through a video at any point, one frame at a time, and take snapshots of the still frames.
I use it quite a bit. It works fine.

Contro,

From the 2 hr video of my son's school annual function, I needed the good shot, for making the photo of him receiving his certificate.

I used "iWisoft Free Video Converter" http://www.iwisoft.com/products.php, to generate the sequence of png images from the selected portion of the video.

This helped me to select the image one which was the best for the photo.

You may give it a try.

Regards,

Anand
