Greetings
In the interest of simplicity as I've been remiss in responding to various correspondence I thought I'd simply post here what has been occupying most of my time. After battling with Alzheimer's for the last 3 years my father went into the final stage downward spiral in the last few months. He died in his sleep around noon Monday.
My apologies for not getting back to folks about various issues.

My condolences, too.
I've lost my older brother 12 years and my father 11 years ago (and I was 26 at that time) and even I don't know what to say to somebody
to support him in his grief. It's a german saying "Die Zeit heilt alle Wunden" (time heals all wounds) but unfortunately this is completely untrue ;(
When time goes by it's only getting a tiny bit better.

Time heals all wounds...yeah well, it doesn't do anything about the scars these wounds leave behind.

I already went through the experience of losing both parents, so enjoy the time you can spend with your remaining parent.

Lost my father ~three (3) years ago, my mother ~two (2). Can't say whether what you feel is what I felt (I suspect it is), but time does dull the edges, although not the memories. Save those, above all. ('Tis said time heals all wounds, but that's a lie: it just lets 'em scab over.) Great sorrow for your pain and grieving.
