Viewers of the accompanying video might initially wonder why the person doesn't just give the cockatoo its nuts, rather than make the poor bird work painstakingly for its meal. But what's astonishing is that the bird, a captive-bred Goffin's cockatoo named Figaro, possesses the skills to craft a tool, and use it to achieve its objective.

Keep in mind he's not just using a twig someone put in his mouth -- he actually goes and breaks off twigs and cuts them down to size so that he can use them for this task.

Not so sure if these are "friends"...

Herd Of Drunken Elephants Ransack Indian Village After Drinking Purloined Liquor

A pack of boozing elephants turned a small Indian village upside down Sunday as they trampled crops and homes in search of a strong local alcoholic beverage called Mahua.

About 50 elephants had been drawn out of the jungle by the smell of the drink, according to the Times of India, and their first stop was a shop that sold the beverage. The elephants made quick work of the shop's supply --18 containers of the drink, made from the nectar-rich flowers of the mahua tree.

But it is kind of funny!

But wait! There's more!:

Cue the first video up to ~29 seconds. Cue the second video up to ~1:18. Figure out how to play them both at the same time.

Somehow I managed to unknowingly get those two clips to play at the same time and it was amazing!

That is cool. But those animals are not friends.

SNN2833CAT--_1644371a.jpg

Quote
Eight-year-old Terfel kept bumping into things and spent most of his time stuck in his basket after being diagnosed with cataracts.

Then owner Judy Godfrey-Brown let a stray cat into her home — and was amazed by what happened next.

The puss, named Pwditat, walked up to Terfel and led him out of his basket and into the garden. She has been helping him find his way around ever since.

From a more serious thread elsewhere:

Forbes has now Schrödinger's cat on their page ;)

YOU CAN'T USE IT
YOU CAN USE IT

They should,  least, use < s > tag for old info…

While staying with family after my move, I am around pets more - a dog and a couple of cats. If I ever decide to get a cat later I think I really might name it Schrodinger!

(Cue the fun! Schrodinger is the cat, and you all know cats own you!)
