Parameters Control Diary

Parameters Control Diary

I would to find similar software to Optimism, with definable controls for any purpose.
It seems like a definable checklist.
Definable parameters.
Just like Optimism but more general.
Do you know any similar software to this ?

Best Regards

P.D. Optimism

All these options and parameters are in the (probably REALSQL) database 'C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Optimism\Optimism.rsd', AFAICS.
The "Custom..." buttons at the top of each screen-section brings up an edit screen where you can change the texts etc...

Just some work to set up a different set of questions, or a different language

These are the screenshots.
Seems a complicated environment for programmers.

Well.
Until the moment the only filon I have found in the same relation with auto help is the goals software category.
Monitoring software and check point software usually leave my in categories for IT experts.
I will inform if I get something in the field of auto help configurable enough for general purposes.

Another category is the projects software.
But deals with the phases to be necessary finished. And in this case there is other general intention so that category don't go well.

I am going by the dashboards category. But all seems complicated. I would prefer something similar to the Optimism Philosophy .

I'm not really sure what you're after, but have you looked at Points Motivator?

Trying it myself, and the Delete This Entry / Modify This Entry context menus don't seem to work. Even if I create a new blank file, it still shows the default items. But maybe that is just me. If so I wil start another thread.

I will try by myself first. I had this soft downloaded some time ago. Now I think is the ideal one, but perhaps a little difficult for me. I will try harder.
The first move is download the last version from Mouser.

Contro - it seems to me that you can customize all the parameters in Optimism ... no ?

It's not easy.
Seems possible but require a lot of imagination.
Ath also affirm is possible modifying the database associated. I couldn't

Obviously is not for a basic user.

I didn't know how to modify the database. And need a shareware software.

But the custom buttons is not a "consolidated true". You continue having a soft oriented to psicological matters.
Even is you custom to the spanish language the inner modules continues with the same structure.

Of course Optimism is a great soft, but is not prepared for multi-profile options.
It's a very bad portable soft. Really is not portable at all.
The presence of the OptimismAgent.exe contaminated all possibilities.

Is literally impossible without strange tricks get multiple instances.

The reason is that the executable verify in the Documents and Settings folder the existance of the Agent (to synchronize) and text files where the configuration is.

In my case I have several times installed windows xp pro sp3 . But this will not be enough to get the multi profile behaviour.

If I installed Optimism in portable way in other of my systems the problem subsist.

With certain work you can disable the agent (windows registry, msconfig, ....), but the program in each execution verify existance of the configuration folder Optimism inside the Documents and Settings folder.

If you need two or more profiles with different parameters you can do this :

A batch or a script to alternate databases.

First security copy of the initial databases.
Do modifications to the parameters with the custom option.
When done make a security copy of the new database.

To use one or other profile you will need to copy the databases to the corresponding situation.

Other solution is use virtual machines.

 :-*

Initially Point Motivator don't have any of the above problems.

The use of the Optimism Agent is for sync with mobiles devices or sync on the cloud.
But don't permit several profiles. This is not flexible.
Besides in the inner core Optimism continues always to be in a non flexible arquitecture. Is a simple program to depression people. And tools to supere depression and live with a optimism point of view.

As you see in the second screenshot the core inner of the soft maintain his purpose.

I agree. It's just because those options only serves in the third tab, but are present in all tabs.
Mouser tells me to revise with no prompt of time. So we have to wait until that revision date.
