As of around 9pm GMT Google.com is redirecting me to Google.co.uk

All browsers, all computers in the house.

This has buggered up my address bar search in Opera.

Has this happened to everyone in the UK?
Just those on TalkTalk?

It is 'supposed' to do that, I am in Canada and have been getting redirected to .ca for a long time

I guess it might still affect your search but adding /ncr bypasses the country specific domain

Odd - interesting

I've always been able to get to both sites depending upon which TLD I use... now it seems keen that I use the UK site.

Oh well  undecided

www.google.com/ncr

Since it is fed on cookies, it redirects me to country specific domain Sad
More annoying on VPN.

@rgdot
As I've said: cookies.
If I allow Google to store them… no problems with this link BUT I want my search results not to be too smart.

Using Firefox with the search settings at default I get the following:
1) search term in the search field will auto-redirect to .au
2) search term in the address field will stay at .com

Been this way for at least a couple of years.

Addendum: Forget what I said, it's the OptimizeGoogle addon which kicks it to www.google.com when it forces it to https  embarassed

Still, interesting side effect.

Google is creating local profiles for search results, so it is forcing users to stay within local boundaries. That said, you can always use google.com/ncr
