hello
from a little research I did, it seems MuPDF is the fastest rendering pdf library
however, its GUI is minimalistic in a bad way, it lacks everything apart its title bar
is there a MuPDF-based enhanced GUI ?

Except I can't get it to display a scroll down to any other page!
Though it does seem to notice page up and down.
Edit: Shift-Scroll seems to zoom too, so that's almost enough!
Otherwise yes, it is pretty fast, and it takes the extra trick of loading page 1 then loading the rest, so that it does seem to snap! I set it as default for a while.

yeah, it amazingly fast
I am searching for a way to open maximized in default and zoomed at "fit content" level
but main disadvantage: cannot copy text!!!
EDIT: mudraw.txt seems to offer some options, but any idea how to utilize them?

I haven't figured out the features you are asking. In a few days I'll switch my comp back to some other PDF reader - the extra second of load time saved isn't worth the super-minimalism.

Does it really make such a big difference with load time?
I rarely open large PDFs, certainly with "normal" sized ones I'd stick to Adobe Reader these days (in spite of having no love for Adobe). It opens quickly, loads quickly, displays well, and is the best reader I know in terms of navigating & zooming around/in/out.

I think it did for me, on my home machine it definitely felt like a noticeable difference. I don't mind Adobe Acrobat proper, if I actually have to work with a document. But if I am just going to read it, I like having other options.
