Seeking: Interactive Tree Directory Copy that lets me UNSELECT branches

(1/1)

mouser:
Ok here's something I run into pretty frequently when doing manual backup tasks.

I want to copy a large and deep directory structure from one location to another.
BUT there are certainly file types and certain branches of the tree that I do not want to copy.

So essentially what I want is to be shown the Source directory tree where I can browse and untick certain branches to exclude them, and specify a filter of file patterns to ignore, and then have it do a nice copy with progress indicator.

Does this exist somewhere?

rgdot:
Very likely (haven't often used it for copying) XYplorer's copy/copy branch can do that.

ewemoa:
No specific suggestion, but would a file synchronizer be of any help?

yes this is a smart answer.  in fact i can pretty much do exactly what i'm asking if i use a good file compare/sync tool like beyond compare, and perhaps this is the way to go..  Just feels a bit awkward to do it that way, but it does work.
