Good Multi-account (GMAIL included) email notifier

(1/3) > >>

Josh:
OK, this is probably already covered on the forums, but I did not find a topic. What is a good email checker/notifier for Windows that supports multiple accounts, IMAP IDLE (Push mail), IMAP folders, and gmail? Was looking at pop peeper, but they want extra for the ability to look at items sent through the program (WTF?!?!).

I also checked tech support alert but could not find a listing of various programs.

Thoughts?

Not sure about these - found the references in an old usenet posting I'd saved:

* PopTray
    * Unlimited number of Accounts
    * Show number of messages directly on the TrayIcon (rotating by account)
    * Quickly preview a message
    * Delete messages from the server without downloading them
    * Rules that identify a message according to your criteria, then does one of these actions:
          o Play different notification sound
          o Delete from the server
          o Run any EXE file
          o Mark as Spam
          o etc ...
    * Configurable Hot-keys/Mouse-Buttons/Command-Line options for most functions
    * Plug-in Support:
          o Protocol plug-ins (e.g. IMAP4, Hotmail, Gmail, etc.)
          o Notify plug-ins (e.g. Flashing scroll-lock light, ScreenSaver)
    * Spam management using rules and white/black lists
    * Mulitple notfications (play sound, pop-up, etc)
    * Translated into 30+ languages
    * Complete Install / Uninstall
    * Many More ...
All this for FREE and Open-Source !

* CheckP3
Does't specifically mention Gmail.

Pop Peeper is the hands-down winner in this category - www.poppeeper.com

ppass:
Try webmail notifier, an excellent Firefox add-on. FF can run in the background and you still get notified.

Midnight Rambler:
http://www.poptray.org.  Hasn't been updated apparently since September, 2006 but functions well anyway, is free and checks GMAIL accounts.
