Scrolling window in Firefox

Does it work in Firefox for scrolling windows? It used to work a few verion firefox ago, but now on my pc it does not scroll properly - also in version 2 and 3.

screenshot captor 3 can capture firefox scrolling window, though it may take some experimentation; watch the scrolling capture videos to learn the tricks.

Works fine here with FF 10, though sometimes you need to click on the page background first, and sometimes you need to select the outside Windows frame of FF first. It depends. Sometimes. And that's FireFox's fault, AFAIK

Just tried some situations:

• If the background is selected before the scroll, then SSC can detect the margins quite well
• If the outside Windows frame is selected, then it doesn't detect the margins at all, so they have to be set by hand
• If the Quick Reply textbox is selected, then it can't detect the scrolling method correctly, even though SSC thinks it can after hitting the Test Window button, capturing is just crap after that (50 pages, as set for default)

As suggested by mouser in other posts and the Screencast(s), select the background of the page, then start capturing, but use the Test Window button to get the most optimal method.

@Ath: Thanks for the tips. I had been having difficulty with SSC in FF as well, and had not figured out the conditions to make SSC work there. So you saved me some trouble.

Net results for capture of an Amazon page in FF:

• Sometimes got a blue dividing line (gap) between images. Workaround: restart the screen capture and try again (seems to give a different result).
• LHS margin sometimes auto-guessed too close to leftmost text. Workaround: restart the screen capture and try again (seems to give a different result).
• Otherwise can get almost perfect, with a bit of tweaking.

Conclusions:

• Using Ath's pointers (above) seems to help.
• It proved worthwhile to watch mouser's SSC Screencasts first.
• SSC can give near-perfect results.
• General rule: If not almost perfect, then restart the screen capture and try again for that page - because the results of the last time's capture are not always consistently repeatable.
