display translated version of text, side by side, in pdf

hello!

my work frequently involves article translation in pdf, and I need a pdf editor where I will be able to display each block of text, in its original and in its translated version, side by side, to make alterations and generally compare the progress of translation work

any program that can be helpful for such kind of work?

It was built as a novelty (to show how messages get lost in translation).  It also works good for error checking translations though.  I found that some Spanish characters didn't display correctly, but it works well otherwise.

maybe add the translated text as "comments" that will pop up when I click to a specific text block?

last time I tried this with Acrobat X, it was messy: the text that had some "comments" assigned to it, was underlined red (which made the pdf visually unacceptable), the appearance of the comments covered the original text so that I couldnt compare them, etc

any solution to this?

OmniPage.  Screenshot is Version 15; current version is 18.

[Edit at UK time 2012-01-29, 20:05:-] Clarifying: I probably misunderstood your request.  OmniPage is an OCR program that presents the original and the text conversion side by side. If you want a genuine PDF editor, there's the Foxit suite, and Iceni Sofware's Infix PDF editor is a permanent Bits du Jour Hot Deal, but I don't know if either will put two PDFs side by side.[/Edit]

My understanding with pdf "EDITORS" is that they are all very expensive. 
Do you want to actually have an exiting pdf that you edit, or do you want to just have a finished product that is a pdf?

I'm not familiar with OmniPage, but I do know of http://www.cutepdf.com/products/cutepdf/Writer.asp which is free.  You could make a doc in Word (or GoogleDocs) with a table, then paste the text in the table and save/print as a PDF. 

Also, if you want an existing pdf with text fields that you can type/paste into, then print it, that is a different scenario.  http://www.pdfescape.com/ is the only freebie I'm aware of that let's you create that.

I don't think you'll find any tool that will, naively, create a table and insert text of two diff languages. 

Re TranslatorBoomerang, make sure you check out the "debug" tab...   That is where you can copy both versions of your text from.  See img http://i.imgur.com/6W6ca.png

I was also thinking that maybe you could use VBA in Word to write a macro for the job, given that Word has some native translation abilities.  After trying though, I'm not so sure it would be possible.
