Do we have a volunteer willing to make short (couple minute) video screencasts demoing of all the entries? It's a time consuming task but one that would be nice to find a volunteer to do -- someone who has a reasonable microphone, etc.
Anyone?

And let me use this thread to ask if NANY participants would like anything special this year? We will of course do our normal Cody NANY Mug thing and send each participant a mug to commemorate this year's event. And if people prefer they can choose instead to get a t-shirt, shot glass, or anything else at cafepress.com up to about $20 including shipping. But there was some talk last year about " NANY Certificates" -- I'm happy to send those out too for those that want them.

I have no screencasting software, unfortunately, and honestly I have very little experience doing screencasts. So, as mouser stated above, "Do we have any volunteers?". I know there have to be several people here with experience who could make short polished screencasts.
I do have DebugMode's "Wink", but I don't think it will produce output compatible with hosting screenscasts on YouTube. However, I'm happy to write up each entry, and I'll do Wink-casts if needed.

Thanks mouser for the proposed 'NANY Certificate' with the gift. Can you upload the image of the certificate, if possible ? This may infuse more enthusiasm in our developers Regards, Anand

Try CamStudio. I had to do a quick screen recording, and naturally my Camtasia installer is corrupt... so... rather than fart around trying to find a backup... I tried BBFlashBack and had similar audio problems, i.e. none. CamStudio worked better for me.

I've got a buddy coming over sometime in the next few days. He has Camtasia and said he'll give a shot at doing casts for my four entries. Dunno if I can convince him to do others Any particular settings he needs to know about in regards to how to set up the videos? He says it can pre-format to fit YouTube?

Yay! My friend Conner has produced a cast of one of my entries, mouser. Do you want me to upload it and provide you the download link? I assume you will download it, preview it, and (if acceptable) upload it to YouTube when the time comes?

Ladies and Gentlemen,
The time has come for me to gently but insistently start prodding you to establish a Release version of your program. In other words, the version that you intend to submit as your official NANY 2012 application. Please change the title of your thread to "NANY 2012 Final Release: Your App Name Goes Here" so that mouser and I can correctly identify it for the writeup and screencast. We're still looking for help with making screencasts. Mouser and I can each make some, but it sure would be nice to have 3 or 4 people working on it.

When's the exact cutoff date/time for release? I plan on adding features right smack up to the deadline, but as I'm in EST, I don't want to be late to the party!

Or if anyone is willing to screencast their own software, that would be some help too -- not to mention that you'll surely do a better job than I will.

I've uploaded a screencast of "Found Money" to DC and here's the link, mouser: http://kyrathaba.dcmembers.com/screencasts/FoundMoney.mp4Holler when it's uploaded to the DC YouTube channel, and I'll add it to the write-up I'm working on...

We're down to the final few hours. Your entries must be released by midnight server-time (a little more than 4.5 hours from now), to be included in the writeup and screencasting. Thanks to those of you who have let me know your intentions. Several threads have been changed to "Release" threads. This is a heads-up to those who haven't chimed-in that we need to know if you'll be able to make the deadline or not. Anyone who reads this and finishes his/her release-version by the deadline, please change your thread's title to include the word "Release". Much thanks!

Yay, there are a lot of releases!
I've a copy of Camtasia and a headset, but unfortunately I won't be able to access them until the 9th, and I know you want the screencasts out before then.

Hmm, I've entered the NANY event three times. The first time, I submitted one app; two apps the second time, and 4 this time. Does that mean I need to submit 8 apps for NANY 2013, to keep the sequence going?

Yes, why yes it does, kyrathaba. I'd give you an exemption, but I am in the habit of setting myself impossible goals, and obviously I am in no different position than you: two entries last year, no entries this year... so I need to strong-arm capable coders into making two apps and deleting all copies of them at release day without releasing, wait... no, withdraw my old applications and essentially unmake them... ugh. I guess I might settle for simply breaking the space-time continuum. Everyone who participated: great jobs. I've been looking through them, and while I haven't posted in any topics, that is simply because this years bounty doesn't seem to have much of my needs. (Or maybe my cursory glance is missing the ones that would!) Eiher way, once again, good jobs, and thanks on behalf of all those bums who, like me, tend to be too lazy to register/login and post.
