Zoner 13

By all means, grab Zoner Photo Studio Home 13,
by no means, ugrade to Zoner Photo Studio Pro 13.

I have just upgraded from Zoner Pro 12 to Pro 13, and I was disappointed. The new version has of course improved, just not in the areas that I would want it to! It has some new features, upload to your facebook account, etcetera, and the photo manager clearly is working faster, so a new major version may easily be justified. But what goes for the integrated editor, the reason I wanted to upgrade in the first place, the news are very hard to spot. They say something has been changed, and one day I may figure out what, but for now I can not see any reason to upgrade to version 13 Pro if you already have version 12 Pro or 13 Home.

I may have been too hasty to post my disappointment...

What's new: http://www.zoner.com...verview-new-features

You can compare the full set of features, in Pro, Home, and Free, in this PDF document: http://www.zoner.com...ition-comparison.pdf - it seems it's just a question of 'seek, and you shall find'...

Curt,

I have Zoner Photo Studio Pro 12 and took a look when it popped up the notification for the ZPS 13 upgrade. I decided to stand pat. Frankly I can't see why they are charging an upgrade price for that version. I didn't see anything listed that I considered worthy of an upgrade, especially a $40 upgrade. Very disappointing.

Thanks!

Jim

I see it's on offer Bundlelytic, Nitro PDF Professional, Sticky Password PRO, Zoner Photo Studio

What's the verdict in general on the programme ?
(I'm looking for something to organise my photos)

Does this offer any benefit (e.g. speed) over Photoshop?

I don't see an upgrade path from Home version to Pro. I looked at their upgrades page and only see paths from previous pro versions.

-discounted versions are more expensive to upgrade.

To be eligible for special upgrade prices, you need to own a previous version of a Zoner Software product.

To see the upgrade prices from other products and all your available options, please enter your licence code in the box below...

@tomos - regarding a photo organizer. I have never used any other program than Explorer itself, to manage my photos. But if I really had to use something, I would probably first test Zoner Pro 13. Three tabs: Folders, Catalogue, Favorites. I guess the Catalogue tab is the more important one for this:

But I don't use this myself, and I don't know the differences between Home and Pro.

The pro version has more editing capabilities.

I put my home version serial in the "upgrade from other versions" box and it told me there was not upgrade available from Home 13 to Pro 13. I got the Home version this morning with the Bundleytic bundle and I would like to have paid the difference to get the pro version.

It is strange as most developers would love to have you move from their standard versions to their pro versions. I have Zoner Pro version 9 but the cost to upgrade that is $55; too much.

@edbrop, Who is listed as Help > About... > License owner? I guess it is not your name? A third party name would make it difficult to upgrade the key, to you.

Is Zoner going the Ashampoo way (upgrading/major versions, instead of updating/minor versions)?

My PC does not have low memory, but slow memory.
1.7GB RAM was available when this happened:

So you better test Zoner 14 before purchasing it.
