-seems to be a fine offer,
but:

Licensing of the Stand-Alone Editions is made on a per-computer basis. You need a separate license for each Stand-Alone installation.

How easy will it be next year to move the program to the next computer of mine?

-thanks.

Sales and offers often signals brand-new or soon-to-be-replaced. Version 8 was launched 11 months ago, but your site is missing a history of the previous versions 1-7, so I wonder how long I can expect it will take, before it is replaced by version 9?

We don't entertain a fixed release schedule. A new version is published when it is mature and suitable for a release.

Anyway, its easy math: This 70% discount plus the 50% upgrade discount for any future v9 still makes it a great opportunity.

BartelsMedia, does PE give you a choice of text insertion methods?

I ask because one of my editors is WSedit by Dr. Martin Vieregg, http://www.hypermake...om/english/home.html (made in Germany  :) ) I use it because it's WordStar style.  Some phrase expanders fail with it.  When you try to trigger the short form, they don't enter anything into the file.  The editor behaves as if Ctrl+V only had been pressed.  I checked this with clipboard enhancer ArsClip, http://www.joejoesof.../showpage.php?cid=97 because it offers a choice of pasting methods.  In AsClip's case, the Ctrl+V method doesn't work, but Shift+Insert and "Mimic Typing" both do.

Sure, PhraseExpress supports all known paste methods:

* Key-by-Key (WM_Char, VKPacket, Sendkey)

* Clipboard Pasting

Please learn more at http://manual.phraseexpress.com#pastemethod

You can even define the desired paste method for each phrase separately, if you want: http://manual.phraseexpress.com#pasteoptions

Thanks.  I had envisaged setting paste method per application, rather than per phrase, and can't see that in your quoted section.  But it's present?

setting paste method per application

1. Duplicate the phrase(s) which need application-dependent paste methods.

2. Apply the desired paste method via the #pastemethod macro function to one instance of the phrase.

3. Restrict that instance to the desired specific program(s).

4. Exclude the other instance of the same from the desired programs (as defined in 3.).

Voila. This solution is not suitable for a larger number of phrases though.
