Chameleon Startup Manager 50% off
« on: October 21, 2011, 06:53:55 AM »
Today (Friday, 21'st October, 2011) only:

Quote from: Bits du Jour
Chameleon Startup Manager PC Software with a 50% off Discount Coupon Code

Normal price: $29.95 , today 50% OFF = $14.97

This is the startup delayer that I use myself, and I have tried almost every one there is.

But to understand what a startup manager really is, you must first forget about the "Reduce Boot Times"-nonsense. A startup manager is about having control and stability, even if the price actually is longer boot times!

Hi,

Chameleon Startup is back today at Bits !

You can see my comments there, but I suggested watching here as well.
http://www.bitsdujou...leon-startup-manager

The more I look at Chameleon Startup, the more impressed I am.  I used to grumble a bit because it does not integrate a Task Manager (separate program, which I do not use) .. however I have totally gone past that grumble-bumble.  The program is really top-notch.

====================

I suggest we use this thread for any thoughts and comments for Evgeni !

For quite some time Chameleon has been offering version 4 Beta at reduced intro-offer price.

This version can be registered with a 50% discount if you buy before the full release is available.
If you detect a bug and inform us of the details immediately, you will receive an additional discount of up to 100%.

I have been running version 4 for some months but have not found any bugs

Version 3 is still being updated.

Hi,

Here is a thought for Evgeni.

When we save Chameleon we are really backing up two different aspects that can be at dissonance.

1) settings
2) data - programs loading, configs

e.g If you do an OS or early image reinstall, you may end up with very different programs and want (1) but not (2).  In other cases, you might want both.

Thus, the save should be split up into the components.  As it is now it is hard to save the settings without also getting the program data that you often might not want.

(This is off the top of my head, so if I am wrong on this, correct away.)

without really understanding any of this, I would expect most of your requested feature to be included in the startup configuration & profile features:

Quote from: features
Possibility to restore all changes:
Automatically save the history of changes in configurations and for each program

Select the startup configuration at Windows start-up:
During Windows startup, it is possible to select the programs to be launched by selecting one of the Windows startup configs saved earlier (eg, for the Internet, for games, etc)

Allow to add, edit, disable and remove startup programs.

Startup configurations management:
Any number of Windows startup configs can be created and loaded if necessary
