Local Area Network Connection
« on: October 13, 2011, 05:43 PM »
Sometimes I need to modify the internet connection with other dns or asign automatic ip and dns.
I would like to do this very fast. Not manually under windows xp pro sp3.

There is an script to do this ?
Special soft for these purposes ?

NetSwitcher is probably the best known of several utilities that can do that for you.

I have found other two :

netsetman for quick changes and Nassau to see quickly my connections.

Both in freeware version and portables.
Sometimes Nassau fails in the refreshing, but closing and opening recognise the new profiles.

NetSwitcher go very well.

Avanquest Connection Manager
Have never used it though.
(Was considered once when the Lenovo tool was causing problems)

It's a pity a try. I ask for the key but don't go well once and again. When press OK nothing happen. I can't try this program and I don't know why.

I uninstall with revo uninstaller advanced options .
First time I installed in portable mode selecting a install directory in my data disk Y:
The program writes many things in the windows registry.
Next time in no portable mode give good results.
Accept the serial pressing the OK key.
The program seems to be a lot complex for me . More than my selected one : NetSetMan
