The big difference from the free is IP scanning & realtime protection (which you can turn off, ifyou think it takes too much cpu.).

I've had Malwarebytes Pro on my computers for several years now.  Yes, I think it's very good.  Yes, I think it's worth it, especially since it's a lifetime license.  (Indeed, I paid full price, and I still think it's worth it.  At $14.95, it's a steal.)  Every now and then, there's a hike in CPU usage, but it doesn't last.
