reminds me of this thread here.. The link's conclusion in short is to bypass the mobo ethernet port. I ripped my linksys ethernet card out of another computer...plugged through that one, and SUCCESS!
...
I wiped the old drivers (and firewall) and instead of installing them through the disc, I let windows find the driver itself, so no extra software was added. This seems like such an easy answer, but to not access ONE site because of drivers just didn't make any sense.

yeah, that was probably by default rather than the de facto solution.. what it tells us is that these kind of problems do exist but their solution is a terribly hit-or-miss affair..

Herzlich willkommen, Thomas! 3. Webshots (screensaver prog ... Did you change the Webshots icon - because at my PC Webshots is looking like this: I have just updated Webshots from version 2.5 to Desktop 3.0 and it has an all new icon: I would like to add that even though Webshots is marketing 3.0 as a completely new and rewritten program, the only TWO things that have changed, are that it is 'Vistable' and has a new icon. Nothing else has changed. NOTHING AT ALL!! I never really liked CNET... --- Back to the main subject; my programs in the systray: and click for the PS Tray Factory popup:

"Vistable" - I like it. Is that a Curt original? If it is, you should be proud - good one! I like it because it rhymes with "derisible"

I have of course tried the FreeThesausrus.net and was mighty impressed. I have however Moby Thesaurus as an integrated part of my Babylon, and this will do just fine.

Nuclear energy acronyms? Whoa. In my youth I was a soldier for many years, and learned that you must know your enemy. By this I am not saying that Nuclear Energy is my enemy, and DonationCoder's forum is of course not the place to debate this further, but because of your "comment" I will say that Tjernobyl and the others were not exactly new reactors, were they. In Japan they already think their newest technology to be so safe that they are building new reactors inside their cities! And if the present environmental situation continues to escalate, then we just might be forced to reconsider our attitude towards Nuclear Energy. Whoa!!

"Man of many interests"; hmm - at least I think I used to be. But as I am getting older I am noticing my list of interests is narrowing. There has been far too much "chit'chat" in my life; but now I can see that my life too will end, so more and more often I am thinking "get to the point of what really matters", or something like that. But of course not all day yet - then I wouldn't be here at DC, would I.

steeladept; On a certain point of time in the future there will be a generation that will not have any kids, because the planet and the human race ran out of time. I will like to think that this generation also has a meaning with their life, as everybody else, even they don't get any children. I am saying this because no matter how much you love your girls, then it cannot be this "smaller" kind of love that gives the meaning. I cannot think that God is unjust, and this LAST generation's life will also have the same meaning as our's, if any. Follows that it must be a greater kind of love that gives the meaning of life. A greater LOVE. Sorry for talking about these things on a IT site. How can I put it? Oh, yes: I think a greater kind of LOVE is a must-have in the system tray!

Directory Opus: My favorite file manager. Billy: A very lightweight no-nonsense music player. Macro Express: I use this mainly to auto click on program controls like 'I agree'..sort of like 'Push That Freaking Button'. Direct Folders: I use it to quickly jump to frequently used folders and for the 'click switch' feature. Browser Tray Switch: I want to set Firefox as default browser while at home and IE while at work. I use BTS for this. StrokeIt: For mouse gestures. PhraseExpress: One of the most useful software I've ever used. ClipX: My favorite clipboard manager. Clipboard menu has 2nd item highlighted by default and that's excellent thinking w.r.t usability on part of the creator. Find And Run Robot: What I like about this is the advanced features like aliases and plugins. But when it comes to raw speed, my ex launcher, Executor is awesome. AutoHotKey script: This is a simple one in which I have set hotkeys for common programs like Word, Outlook, IE..

Are you running Vista and a beta ClipX, sri? I didn't bother to try ClipX the first time I met it because the "last stable version" was from 2005. ??
