fSekrit in Clif Notes

(1/1)

clif_notes:
Hi all,

In response to Mouser's suggestion that I take a look at fSekrit ...
https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?topic=2455.msg18579#msg18579

I'll be posting this in next week's newsletter. It's apparent to me that I've overlooked this application and it deserves all the praise it can get.

Here's a first draft.

It was surprising to get a letter from my good friend Bill Webb about fSekrit. As usual, he has impeccable taste in software, and he's not afraid to tell you his opinions. LOL

I've got to work in a credit to the author in it. I'll do that soon.
Thanks for the great coding f0dder.

Have fun ya'll,

Clif

wonderful -
and i'm glad you mentioned the find+undo stuff missing from fsekrit, as i had forgotten about those,
and now this should spur on f0dder to add those plus the other minor missing things he needs to add (including unicode) to make fsekrit the very best.  maybe wait a few days to give f0dder a chance to add them before publishing?

I was planning to publish on March 19th. I'll give him however much time he wants.

Thanks for your kind words, clif :)

I'm working on unicode and find/replace at the moment. Spare time has been a bit tight because of work (until I find something better, I load/unload parcels at www.dpd.net - early morning, 7km of bicycling each way, and hard physical work, so I'm a bit trashed when I get home :)).

There's already undo, btw, at the standard CTRL+Z keyboard shortcut. I usually don't use editing menus myself, so I've been a bit forgetful of stuff to add there.

I expect to have the next version ready for April 1st. I'm currently pondering whether to have two exes, one for unicode and one for ANSI text, since unicode will add a little bloat and might reduce win9x compatibility (that's another thing that sets fSekrit apart from locknote. Locknote uses an API that's not available on win9x, so it won't run there at all).
