AttachMate/Novell Lays Off People - Mono Hit

I'm sure a lot of people have already heard this, but AttachMate/Novell has laid off a lot of people.
Mono has also been hit, though how hard is not yet public.

F-Spot doesn't seem to run on Windows. But wouldn't the whole point of using Mono be to run something easily on both Windows and Linux?

There are still platform specific things that you can include/exclude.
They might just have decided to build for Linux, but reuse their C# skills and forget Windows.
Dunno.

If mono is open source then i don't see it stopping anytime soon. Someone will pick it up and maintain it no matter what happens to novel.

As long as it's an ECMA standard, there is no stopping anybody from making SOME implementation of it, whether it's called Mono or not.
