Problem with itlaics

When I capture text with some words in italics, and then use CHS to paste it into a word document, the italics formating may spread to the whole line or event to the whole clip. Is there a way to format text withing a clip for itlaics and keep it to just the selected text?

Another problem is with superscript. The clip shows the text as reqular text.

Where do you grab these texts from?

There are problems in both MS Word 2003 and in LibreOffice Writer 3.3.1

The results are variable. The superscript seems to hold sometimes in Word but not in LibreOffice. Now when I try it the italics is lost in Word. If I use just ctrl-c and ctrl-v in Word all of the formating remains. However, if I then go to CHS and highlght the capture and click on insert into active window the formating is either entirely lost or mixed up. After that if I repeat ctrl-v all the formating is lost.
