I think this type of software is far away from possibilities of manipulating simple files.
I have seen in an ERP a way to functional organization of documentation because the docs are created from the program and control real dates of creation and modifications.
For doing this with an external script after the documentation is created I think is necessary go into the metadata.

I thought Benubird would work,
but I really haven't understood what is trying to be accomplished here.

Benubird only seems to manipulate pdf files. I don't see how would work in this case.

By the way. Do you know is Benubird is a portable application ?
