P.S. How are you doing the "faded shots"? I only know how to capture the whole thing!

Start with the full capture.
Select the bit you want to crop (in theory you can fade within, or outside, this selection - but with my settings at any rate, it always crops and fades outside the selection)

So if you actually cropped all around the image, it would be blurred on all sides?  That's pretty cool... I didn't know about that!

With Screenshot Captor, the dialog tomos showed is for splicing (with effects added).
But it might be more straighforward to FIRST do a normal crop, and then from the SpecialFx2 menu, choose "Border" and then last submenu item is "border effect splice style (ragged effects)"
which will give you this dialog:
Screenshot - 11_15_2013 , 11_57_36 PM.png

Which is mostly the same but lets you choose what edges to apply the effect to.

ps.Fade out is ok, but i personally prefer the ragged edge effects when i want to indicate a crop:

When mouser insisted that we are all a bit eccentric here (aka weirdos) I kind thought he was exaggerating a bit. I mean, we aren't that weird, are we?

But then I went back a few pages in this thread...

smh...you guys seem to have too much time on your hands and choose to spend it doing...of all things...this?  ;D

Can also do fade out with that - here's with top + bottom faded:

@tomos: Heh. Thanks. I hadn't realised the number had got up to 4,000.    :o
I hope the majority of them were helpful/useful/informative.    :-[
Quite a lot of writing/typing there...
I can only type like that because of Cu (Copper).
