Fundraiser Day 24 - Mini-Reviews and Updates
« Reply #25 on: March 24, 2011, 05:33 AM »
It's Day 24 of the Fundraiser, and so far we've raised over $10,457 from over 430 different individuals, which is wonderful.  If you haven't donated yet, you're running out of time, so get moving!

For today, DC member phitsc posted:

Furthermore, DC member and Coding Snack pro Skwire, released a bunch of updates to his apps:

Fundraiser Day 25
It's friday and Day 25 of the Fundraiser -- we're in the home stretch!

Today DC member skwire released a Steam Url Converter, a tiny utility for people who use the Steam gaming platform:
Steam allows you to create shortcuts on your desktop to launch games.  However, these shortcuts are not standard Windows .LNK files.  They are .URL files and, sometimes, they don't show the proper icon for the intended game even if the .URL file contains the correct information.  This app tries to solve the issue by converting the .URL shortcut into a .LNK shortcut.  Simply drag the .URL file onto the SteamURLConverter.exe file and it will immediately create a .LNK file in the same folder as the .URL file.

And I released an important update to Python ProtoCards, my open source Python library to help card game designers rapidly prototype printed card designs.

Enjoy the weekend, and stay tuned for the final details of the end-of-fundraiser giant giveaway that will be posted in the next couple of days!

Fundraiser Day 28 - The Giveaway Opens!
Day 28 of the fundraiser and it really seems like we could reach $12,000 by the time the fundraiser closes at the end of March -- that would be incredible -- and double what we were originally aiming for.

The big announcement for today is that we have posted the fundraiser giveaway entry form -- which is now open to all supporting/donating DC members.

There is an eclectic assortment of items being given away -- from the super valuable Optimus Maximum keyboard and custom programming time devoted to a project idea of your own invention, to software and unusual and rare DC memorabilia.

Fundraiser Day 29
I'm a little late posting this, but Day 29 of the Fundraiser was a busy one.

Yesterday we opened up the giant end-of-the-fundraiser giveaway form which everyone is clamoring to enter.  And then a new big newsletter went out -- summarizing the best forum posts in the last month or two, as well as putting out the final call for donators to help us cross the fundraiser goal line.

And lastly, DC member JavaJones posted a long review of a cool new backup application/service called CrashPlan.

Fundraiser Day 30 - Flipbook Printer Suite (FlipSuite)
So for today's release I posted a large new application I've been working on for a while, FlipSuite.

FlipSuite is actually the evolution of a program I wrote quite a while ago called Flipbook Printer; the new application incorporates robust video recording functionality as well as numerous improvements and bugfixes.  Read more about it in the FlipSuite forum section.

Fundraiser Day 31 - Final Wrap Up
Well the time has finally come to wrap up the fundraiser month, tuck all the baby cody bird's into bed, and say thank you to everyone who donated.

It's been a busy month, and the fundraiser has been a great experience for all of us here at DonationCoder.  Seeing the support from everyone always helps rejuvenate us.

It makes working on the site more enjoyable and it makes us want to work even harder to ensure the site is useful to those that support it.

We raised a whopping total of $14,239 from  over 600 individual donators.

Thank you everyone for making the fundraiser so special and for supporting the site.
