I think I posted in the wrong thread a year ago but since my post is in the chain, every time someone replies to that thread it shows up in "new replies to your posts" section.

It would be nice if after I realized I lame posted I could just obliterate it myself instead of calling attention to it.  Is it possible/desirable?

Also I think it a generally useful feature. Not just for the particular instance I noted.

I understand why the removal of the delete was implemented, but would it be possible to do like some other forums and let you delete for either (1) a set amount of time after posting or (2) until someone replies?

Just a thought...

yeah that's actually a good idea.

in fairness, that's mostly the way it informally works now -- someone who misposts usually just edits their post to say "MODERATOR PLEASE DELETE THIS" or something similar, and it's usually deleted within a few minutes.

but your suggestion is a good one.
