Great Scanner funtions in ScreenShotCaptor

(1/1)

PitrPaulus:
Good day Everbody,

Some years ago i bought a multifunctional from Canon (MP600R) with Omnipage-scan-software that was already included (with basic standard-scan-options). When i installed Windows-7 over Vista that scanning-function didn't work anymore with Windows7. New license will cost me more than 100 Euro, i heard from the guys of Scan Soft Omnipage. Well, than i decided to buy a new multinfunctional. Shortly before i went to the shop, i discovered (saved by the bell!) that in ScreenShotCaptor is also a scan utility available. Well, i thought that than the functions/buttons from my Canon-machine will stop or decrease, (and that i have to scan always via the SSC-program) but since i configured SSC for scanning, i can also use the scanning-buttons on my MP600R!. Just like it was before. Nothing changed?!! That's really GREAT! That saved me a lot of money buying new hardware (or either software).

So if you're looking for a nice scan utility, with extra options to modify the scanned item, just choose this Scanner in ScreenShotCaptor.
You can find it under : Edit > Preferences > Scanner Options.

Have Fun with the software.
Greetings,
Hippodrome.

I'm really glad the scanner functions were useful to you.

I find them especially useful for really quick common scanning uses.

Press button to scan image.  Press quick-skew adjustment button to fix tilt.

Then my favorite feature is not known by many, its the shift+alt+S shortcut that lets you select a region on the page and quickly save it to a new file; you can use that to really quickly carve up a scan into 5 or 6 different region files.  I use that all the time.

Thanks for these time-saving and useful pointers. Will come in handy with my new EPSON V330 scanner.
Cranioscopical originally had pointed me at this thread in case it might be useful in helping me to revive my obsoleted HP Scanet 3400C scanner - but no go (no drivers, you see).    :(

I'd never noticed that - awesome features!
