slightly OT but can someone verify if nitro pdf pro 7 is win7 compatible? i have version 6 pro which does not quite gel with win7, frequently crashing.

I don't think Nitro pdf Pro 7 exists yet.. but 6 is should be win7 compatible. Don't forget to get the update.

that is still a great deal for Nova which is good software
I use Nuance PDF Reader for a reader and Nitro for tasks
