Something screwy on the forum
« on: January 17, 2011, 07:30:33 PM »
...and I think this may be related to Wraith808's posting issue that we talked about over the weekend.

I just posted a message, but now when I look at it, it appears to come from joiwind!

That's potentially quite bad isn't it? I would not like someone else to be able to post as me.

This is what I see for Reply #49

My prime candidate for fix is:

hiding the auto complete window when typing more letters and no accordances are found.

Fixed, coming up in the next build.

Sorry, what was happening is that I was splitting the topic - maybe that's part of the problem? I put joiwind's post back as best I could.

i think i know what may have happened.. perhaps.

you know you are a MOD on that forum, which means you can MODIFY other people's posts.

i think you may have modified someones post thinking you were replying to it.

when you do that, you dont change the poster name, you will just end up with a line at bottom "modified by..."

the reason im pretty sure thats what happened is i can see that you did it :)
well at least i think i can.

i see you modified a post by joiwind and turned it into a reply to his post.

i've actually done this myself once or twice, thinking i was replying but i was really modifying.

some people just aren't ready for mod powers

If you remember, the first time you made me a mod, I freaked out about the extra links added and thought I might accidentally mess things up...and asked you to remove my mod status.  ;D

I still hesitate when hitting that quote link, making sure I am clicking "quote" and not "modify".  :-[

Unfortunately I think mouser removed the message I posted as you — it was a corker!
