Resize cmd.exe window
« on: January 12, 2011, 02:16 PM »
Anyone knows why cmd.exe can't automatically adjust its window buffer size when I want to make its window bigger? Is there a technical reason for this?

For automatic, dunno. :(

But check here:

In the taskbar, right-click on the CMD.exe bar, choose Properties, and then one of the tabs like you see above.

You can adjust the buffer on the first tab.

Don't know if that helps at all...

Should be the 'Layout' tab.

I believe Consol (wrapper for cmd.exe) does that automatically.

Should be the 'Layout' tab.

You're right. The history buffer is on the first tab.

Yeah, I know about adjusting the buffer size. Just don't understand why cmd.exe can't do this under the hood when I resize its window.

That looks interesting. Thanks.
