Both Chrome and Photoshop (and a couple of other programs) already hide the Title Bar in order to save precious screen real state, but I was unable to find a utility that hides the Title Bar of any given window (or by default) in XP (or later).

I'm not a programmer, so this may be more difficult than I suppose it is. Why is is so difficult to hide the Title Bar?

In fact, why we still have Title Bars at all?

Quite specialized tasks, I would say; Taskbar icons could be probably used to the same effect without the redundancy.

And it still doesn't explain why it's so hard to hide the damn thing Cool .

And you would want to close, minimize or maximize all apps from their auto-hiding menu's (press Alt to bring that into view) or from their Taskbar icon (W7 assumed, without taskbar labels enabled) ??
How are you going to drag that window around your desktop if it doesn't have a 'handle' to drag it by?

Indeed. I've recently bought a Dell UltraSharp U2311H with a 16.9 aspect ratio and oh boy -- do I miss those pixels in height!

I know what you mean. I just did a couple of weeks' work on a laptop at 1440x700 or so instead of my usual 1600x1200. That's when you really notice the programs that have huge hoggish ribbon bars or tool bars.

I'm afraid that's a matter of taste, and that's not mine Wink

The discussion on the lack of pixels in height of monitors is a whole different one, and would have been easily solved if you had gotten the U2711 model Kiss (2560x1440 with 0,233 mm pixels)
I bought an Iiyama E2607WS with 1920x1200 resolution a year ago, and it works for me, but I'm still searching for a monitor with at least a 3840x2160 resolution (16:9) and 0,30 mm pixel size (without seams, else 4 panels of 1920*1080 would do) ohmy
