Consider this a public service announcement.

For those of you who haven't yet gotten into the habit of making full system backups (i.e. full drive image backups), do yourself a favor and finally take the leap and get it done.

Yes, for the love of god, please do! If you have any data that you value at all, it's worth taking the time (and spending a little money on backup hardware/software if need be). It could save you thousands of dollars and lots and lots of headache. I know from painful recent experience.  :-[

P.S. RAID is not backup! Do *not* count on RAID to keep your data safe.

If anyone is using RedoBackup, mentioned in this thread Recommend disk imaging software? , they might find these tutorials useful:

Clone Lab Computers with a USB drive - FREE
Clone Computers Across the Network Part 1 of 2 part 2 follows at end of 1.

When backing up laptop to desktop computer those shares must be set up correctly. I had some troubles with that.

I haven't tried the Redo Backup but it looks pretty simple.  Our school uses Ghost to image.  I like the K5 computer lab site.   :Thmbsup:
