[Renegade]: No takers/volunteers to help me start up a new blog and rant a bit?
Deozaan? nudone? Zaine?

Oh trust me, I'd love it. But my experience with Apple products is second-hand, from friends and relatives who have them and let me play with them for an afternoon or longer. I admit that gadgets look cool, but I'm always amused that Apple users think their crap does something that others' do not. My openSUSE Linux system kicks butt, yet Linux Mint is far more polished on the edges. And I won't even start with Windows 7, since the vast majority of Apple users don't even know 15% of its capabilities. They'll scoff and guffaw every single time you mention that, uh, "My Linux system was capable of that 'feature; six years ago. What took Apple so long?"

oops!  ;)

Consider yourself hired!

But my experience with Apple products is second-hand, from friends and relatives who have them and let me play with them for an afternoon or longer.

This is so completely irrelevant. :) There are licensing issues, general douchiness, fanboys, media campaigns, outdated or recycled technology touted as new and revolutionary... There's no end to the ranty possibilities with Apple!

Here's a good starting point...

THINK DIFFERENT!

MUAHAHAHAHAH~! :D

But since we're on the topic, I came across this today and had a good laugh: What it's like to own an Apple product.
Would be good to have a best of Apple bashing section/archive for classics like this (and the iWheel etc.). Perhaps we could also do quickie "reviews" of them critiquing (applauding...) their technical merit.

I like it. Maybe, eventually, we could have awards for best Apple hater/critic from around the web.

Got a few PMs from people and it looks like we're about ready to roll. :)

(Aussie internet is crawling extra mind-numbingly painfully slow at the moment for me - as in a post/page takes several minutes, so please forgive the mass reply here.)

I've got http://kewlaid.net running on Wordpress now.

Now I just need to add people! :)

Add User From Community

Type the e-mail address of another WordPress.com user to add them to your blog.

So what I need is people to PM me their email addresses. Make sure to sign up at Wordpress.com though. Once you're signed up, then I can add you. You just need to have an account there.

And does anyone know the difference between a "Contributor" and an "Author"? (Too painful to search at the moment.)

This is going to be fun~! :D

OK - I have an account. Not happy, though - some blogger is already using Darwin as a username and another is using my default alternative, which is Huxley  >:(

You can change the display name though. The account name is just for logging in. So you can still use Darwin. :)

Quick Stupid Question: Shouldn't the tag line be Don't Drink the Kewl Aid ?

Probably. I just tried to keep it very short as when I made the Wordpress site, "kewlaid.wordpress.com" was being used, so I had to have something else, and "drinkthekewlaid.wordpress.com" or "drinkingkewlaid.wordpress.com" seemed like the best and shortest options. Either way it should be obvious enough, and positive titles work better usually.

Okay, just checkin' :)

I'm active on WP now so let me know where to go (and how to get there) - I've never used WP before.

I'm assuming we are to wait for you to do the lead story/rant/intro and then hop in, yes? ...I'm toying with resurecting an old iPhone Jack rant I did once elsewhere.

...I told the sales manager I was debating on letting him get an iPad just so I could get some material for the blog (hehe).

I may consider doing a guest post or two at some point in the future, but I don't want to commit myself to being a regular member of your writing team.

Sigh... Still having TPG.com.au shiternet problems... Gotta call these nitwits.

@app103 - Sounds good~! :) Just let me know whenever. Or you can PM me your email address and I'll add you so that you can post whenever you feel like.

@Stoic Joker - Having problems adding you at the moment. My shiternet seems to be exactly that at the moment. Sigh... I should have things sorted shortly though.
