MS Office: No customizable keyboard shortcuts? Really?

(1/1)

superboyac:
How does a suite like MS Office not have any customizable keyboard shortcuts?  It's pretty disgusting.  Is it not the most widely used software in history?  The world is using it every day for everything, and it has never added this feature in 15 years of development??  It makes me sick.  I can't use keyboard shortcuts to use the format painter in Excel 2007 without programming a macro.  Wow.  What the heck are they working on in all these versions?  Ribbons?  At least it seems like they've added it for 2010.

Josh:
You can customize shortcut keys in 2010. Right click ribbon, customize the ribbon.

Click where I show you in the attached photo.

Also remember that 2010 was finishing up the implementation of the ribbon which MS started in 2007. I love the 2010 ribbon!

superboyac:
I know 2010 can do it.  But it sure took them long enough.

nudone:
in 2007, you can customise the quick access toolbar - which allows you to edit the hotkeys. the options look very similar to Josh's screengrab above.
