TicClick 2.4.0.0
« on: August 01, 2010, 06:29 PM »
TicClick 1.0 Shift Left Mouse Click on the active window to move it to one of nine Tic Tac Toe positions similar to: https://www.donation...ex.php?topic=23584.0

This version is Mouse-Only.

You can download here:

http://www.favessoft.com/hotkeys.html

In the future I may add a command to avoid having to edit the .ini file when changing the mouse hotkey.  For now you can edit the .ini file while the program is not running to change the hotkey. Modifier keys are
^ for Control
+ for Shift
# for WinKey

As I refine the program I'll have this info near what you need to edit to change it.  Still 1.0 after all. :)

TicClick 1.1  Changed default mouse hotkey to WinKey-Left Click.  Shift-Left Click interferes with Windows multiple selection with the mouse.

Please delete the old TicClick.ini file before running v. 1.1 or it will pick up the old hotkey from the .ini file. If it doesn't work you can usually fix it by quiting using the Tray Icon Menu, then delete the .ini file, then run it again to set the new default.

Or you can just edit the .ini file yourself and put #LButton as the hotkey(or one you prefer.)  See AutoHotKey for the format of hotkey strings.

TicClick 1.2  Added commands Show Readme and Edit IniFile to the Tray Menu.  Yup, I took the lazy way out.  To change the hotkey, use the Edit IniFile command.  The ini file will be opened via file association, then TicClick will quit.  This is to avoid overwriting any changes to the .ini file.

At least this way you don't have to dig into the folder where TicClick.exe is to open the .ini file with an editor. :)

TicClick 1.2.5.0 Made some small fixes.  Reduced memory footprint.
Now Edit IniFile command saves the .ini file, then opens it, so data is in sync. Then the app quits to avoid clobbering changes to the file.

TicClick 1.4.0.0 Added Check for Updates command to Tray Menu. (I would appreciate it if anyone using dial-up internet would try it out as I only have broadband.)

Also a new .ini file setting EdgeBuffer. This is used as a margin for the edge of the screen inside the desktop work area.  Valid range is 0 to 12 pixels.  The default is 4. It helps avoid that "chopped" window frame look when you align to the edge of the screen(maybe it's just on my old monitor but it looks a lot nicer.) On Vista and Windows Seven it may help keep the drop shadow when aligning on bottom right etc..

Re: TicClick 1.5.0.0
TicClick 1.5.0.0 Some minor code improvements.  The downloaded version info file is deleted when no longer needed. If it is found left over during  Check for Updates processing, it is removed.

Erroneous EdgeBuffer settings, like number out of range or set to text instead of a number, are reset to default and rewritten to .ini file on program close.

TicClick 1.7.0.0 TicClick takes no action if Desktop is the active window.  Also if it calculates the Position grid would extend off screen, it is centered on the desktop and the mouse pointer positioned over the 5 button.

TicClick 1.7.1.0 Now Edit Ini File command waits for you to edit the .ini file. After editor close it reloads the program to reset the options.

TicClick 2.0.0.0 I have added U and Mouse Buttons to the position grid.

U Button:

If you should accidentally mess up a window using TicClick, such as flinging the transparent panel from RocketDock(the reason I added the button,) or just want to undo the last move, press the U Button.  The program has a guard against trying to move the desktop. If you are brining it up for an Undo, make sure some window has the focus, not the desktop, or nothing will happen.  Currently it only stores one undo but that should bail out of most scrambled window situations.

Mouse Button:

This is more for those situations where you might change screen res or something happens so that the caption bar for a window is not easy to get at with the mouse.  Click any part of the window to give it the focus.  Hit the hotkey, (optionally)move the Position Grid, then hit the Mouse Button.  The window you hotkeyed on will have its top left corner moved to the current mouse position.  Windows has a way to move a window that's off the desktop using the taskbar icon, but this is way more convenient.

Re: TicClick 2.1.0.0
« Reply #15 on: August 22, 2010, 01:54 AM »
TicClick 2.1.0.0 I added a little ini file editor applet for the Edit Ini File command.  Mainly I just wanted to get a label to show up on glass.  The edit control just sucks up the whole file at once. It's okay for .ini files as they are generally quite small.  The ini file editor applet requires .NET 3.0 or higher with Glass enabled.  If Glass is not enabled on the system TicClick just uses file association as before to edit the .ini file.  If Glass is enabled, the assumption is made there's at least .NET 3.0 on the system.

Here's a screenie

I didn't change the version number but the latest upload has a slightly improved IniEdit.  I added Open and SaveAs buttons.  Also improved the logic so if you attempt to open while you have modified data in the edit, you will be prompted etc..

Also added .txt file type to file open/save dialog filters.

TicClick 2.2.0.0 Made improvements to included .ini editor. Made the window a bit wider.  Will handle Tabs.  Control-t transposes 2 chars to the left of the insertion point if they are on the same line.

TicClick 2.4.0.0 Added Hotkey Shift-NumPadMult to open the Gui.  Also added keyboard support.  You can press a number for a button instead of clicking the mouse.
