I found this little free and portable benchmark tool named QwikMark. If there are any benchmarkers smaller than this little sucker, I've not seen 'em. http://www.vtaskstudio.com/support.php#toolsEven though I have a reasonably decent computer, I like small (and hopefully portable) system tools like QwikMark. If you know of any, please post 'em.

Do you know if it runs OK on Windows 7?
Thanks!

No, it's not dead at all. I got there right before my last post and again just now. Maybe something on your machine is blocking that URL?

Try another browser just for the fun of it. I am getting there with Firefox, Chrome, and Opera, all latest builds.

lanux, you might want to disable IE's "Show Friendly HTTP Errors" option and find the actual sub-status error. That will shed some more light on why the error is occurring. Your error says that IE CAN reach the website but doesn’t have permission to view it.
Are you using an alternate DNS server?
Thank you.

i tried all the browsers i have, Firefox, IE, Maxthon, K-Meleon, Iron but no dice.. i'm using OpenDNS, do you think that would be the problem? anyway, i'd just connect via a proxy, might have a better chance.

It's not a DNS issue, this works fine and gives the http://67.20.84.81 address, which is not accessible either. It might be accessible from within the US solely. Tried from within Slovakia and Czech Republic, both with "400 Bad Request" response. It's accessible via the http://www.hidemyass.com/ proxy, though.

Weird! Something is blocking you folks. The site is up; no doubt about that. But something is blocking the site for certain people or geographic areas. I haven't come across that before.

Yeah, that's really weird--the provided link works fine here with multiple browsers. No idea what the issue could be. J-Mac, QwikMark is supposed to work with everything from Windows 95 through Windows 7 64 bit. I found this author's comment which indicates it even works on SSDs & USB flash drives. On my three year old dual core system I'm getting: CPU FLOPS- 16 Gigaflops; Disk Transfer- 98MB/second. I didn't feel too bad until I saw the Core 7 i920 4-core's 72 Gigaflops benchmark. (mentioned in the Download Squad author's comment) Regards.
