XP Hangs on Shut Down

XP Home hangs on Shutting Down window and I have to use Power button to shut down!

actually, i'm not sure.. every bit would help, i guess. is this a new PC and how long you've had this problem?

Yep brand new 'innards' a year ago but issue only started few days ago!
