1.02 works 1.08 dosen't

I installed 1.02 and it worked fine.  I uninstalled and installed 1.08 and it doesn't work.  If I try typing in text or loading in a text file.  Nothing shows.
When I'm typing nothing shows no errors. I'm using windows vista home premium sp2.

can you explain a little more what the problem is, i'm afraid there are only a handful of people on the planet who use the program so i don't get many bug reports.

but i'm not sure what you are saying is wrong with v1.08, so could you try to elaborate a little more to help me reproduce the problem.
