Can search of donationcoder.com be improved?
« on: March 20, 2010, 06:43 AM »
While I appreciate that the donation coder website has its own search function, I find it easier to use Firefox's native search function on individual pages, especially long pages such as the FARR robot plug-in page. Unfortunately, links are not searchable. For example, searching for locate32 does not take me to the entry for locate 32 that is near the bottom of the page.

Can this be fixed?

Maybe I'm being daft, but it seems to me that searching for "locate32" would not find "locate 32" because they are not the same.

Yeah, that two character limitation can be aggravating, especially on a software site such as this where you might do a search which includes a version number, and especially considering your example in that screenshot: Windows 7.

I've had the same error message a few times myself trying to find a Windows 7 topic on this site.

Oddly enough, I found myself thinking about Stephen's posting a lot yesterday. (Sloooow afternoon Folks!)  >:D and thought... I just might write an article:

On the use of search queries in generating self-negating statements along with notes on its practical application for changing reality.

I love computer logic. It's so boolean don't you think?

I'd suspect this has commercial potential. Imagine every customer complaint on a website automatically negating itself by virtue of the complaint itself being made! Awesome!

It's such a vague and hokey concept that I'm sure our brain-dead USPO would grant me a software patent.

Haha!  Yeah, that is rather interesting.  it reminds me a little of the Liar movie with Ricky Gervais.  mixed up with a little of catch-22.  I don't know...
