Macrium Image Virtualization Tool Beta

(1/1)

MilesAhead:
For those interested in virtualization tools, this beta creates a VHD from a Macrium Reflect backup image:

It's a beta so proceed with caution. :)  Er, you might want to have an image backup of your system heh heh heh

sajman99:
Looks very interesting, but I'm too chicken to mess around with the beta. ;D

Think I'll relax and wait for the final release.

MilesAhead:
I couldn't get it to work, but at least it didn't hose my system. :)

I'm getting tired of removing VirtualBox and then doing system restores just to make sure I got all the drivers and crap off.  The only thing I tried that worked was installing into a VM directly from an XP install CD.  But who wants to install apps for another week?  Not me.  I just took it off.

I suspect for it to work you need to make the image from a single partition bootable HD with the OS seeing itself as C:.  Although it's never easy to be sure with this stuff since I have a fake Raid controller in this thing.  The PC with the plain vanilla Sata only has 2 GB ram so it's not even worth messing with it on that system.

@MilesAhead
Try Virtual Box Portable.
