Simple audio conversion with tag preservation.

(1/1)

Eóin:
If I rip any CDs I do so as FLACs but my small Zen doesn't support that format so I have to convert to MP3. I don't mind doing so but most codec conversion programs are big swiss army knives. Also not all support preserving tags when you convert a file.

So does anyone know of a neat small app that would fit this job.

Eóin:
Ah! foobar2000 does it quite handily, really must check out it's other non-playing features :)

Lashiec:
LameDropXP should also do the same, and it includes built-in support for FLAC reading. Nothing that ubërfoobar can't do, anyway :)

That's what I tend to use - it's output filename/path construction is also pretty handy, and it's nice at spreading the workload across multiple cores :) (doesn't handle out-of-disk situations very well though, sometimes forget that when transcoding to my ramdisk :P)
