Deleted folder afther uninstall
Lotheilian:
I had a link to my portableapps folder in my circledock. Running windows 7 64bit. I didntĀ“t use the portable feature but, because windows allways annoys me when i wanted to change something in the circeldock settings, i decided to uninstall and reinstall in another folder not monitored by the system. Unfortunately afther uninstalling, all my portableapps were gone.(No serious problem because I have a backup) I was not able to reproduce this beahaviour, I cant remember which version I used, probably the one from january. Does someone else had this experience ?

Greetings Lotheilian
Welcome to DonationCoder.com and Circle Dock's forum
This is a "Serious Problem", you are one of the lucky few that create back ups, and for this issue I apologize for any loss.
I am so grateful that you have taken the time to bring this to our attention.
I was awake when the post first came in, and I have spent several hours attempting to replicate this issue. I have had no success.
This leads me to ask a few questions, so that hopefully I can at least nail down the issue/cause.
I am a user of PortableApps and portable applications at large, so you have just sent a shiver down my spine :(
Questions:
Please answer to the best of your remembrance ;)
How were the links created?
Was The Portable Apps in the same folder as the Circle Dock core software folder?
If the Portable Apps files were in another location; Where?
Did you use the native uninstaller for Circle Dock? If not what did you use?
Of course I am using the latest full version, so there may have been something I missed in teh older version (typical), so let me know when you have the chance
I appreciate your time in this matter
Regards
Sarge

How were the links created?
I usualy create the links via drag and drop from the explorer window. Since I just started to configure the settings, there were only links to programms I use frequently. An as far as I remember no link to the folder itself
Was The Portable Apps in the same folder as the Circle Dock core software folder?
No.
If the Portable Apps files were in another location; Where?
Within my windows profile folder c:\users\my_username\my_folder
Did you use the native uninstaller for Circle Dock? If not what did you use?
Yes the native uninstaller.
.Net v2.0.50727.
While this happened, I tried out various multidesktoptools, like Virtual Dimension, DexpotHope and Virtual Desktop from Ati, hope that helps you a bit, since I was not able to reproduce this.
Good Luck and by the way thanks for this great program

And, of course, an issue that would not have arisen at all with a portable version. ;)
