Jigsaw Puzzle Software / Website?
« on: January 18, 2010, 07:15 PM »
I was wondering if anyone knew of good jigsaw puzzle software / websites? I am specifically looking for an application that allows the use of custom pictures and customizable piece size. The closest I have been able to find is this website: http://www.flash-gear.com/npuz/

Although the website above gets the job half way done, it is less than ideal because it doesn't give enough white space for piece sorting.

Any suggestions?  Thanks.

I came across the following.  Haven't used or downloaded it.

Also try a google search for 'retro games' sites.  The other day I was looking to see if there were any PC pinball type games still around and didn't realize how many retro gaming sites and forums there are for the older games.  I do remember seeing references to jigsaw puzzles on some of them.  Hope this helps.

It's kind of old, but I liked Puzzle Master 3.

You can make your own puzzles, adjust the difficulty, piece size, even share your home made puzzles with others that have the game (if you can find anyone else that does). It also has sorting trays, to help keep your working space clear of clutter while you are solving it.

There are also some newer versions, but they are more expensive.

Puzzle Master 4
Puzzle Master 5
Puzzle Master 1,000,000 (couldn't find a download trial of this one)

Thank you so much app103. Puzzle Master 3 looks like it fits the bill perfectly. I am glad I am not the only one with this particular interest. Thank you again.

You know, I thought I had v3, but as it turns out I actually have Puzzle Master v1. (it's much older than I thought!)

Not sure if newer versions can use the puzzle files from the much older ones (I think they can) but if you want to have some more puzzles, here is a bunch (22) that I made a long time ago. (in the descriptions is an old url for my art site, which was changed to http://www.russograffix.tk)

I use PM Puzzle software for making my own puzzles.  Is relatively inexpensive for making four types of puzzles (jigsaw, Mosaic, switch, and bouncing balls).  You can easily create custom puzzles from your digital photos, videos, and image files.  Make random size and difficulties adjustable puzzles, create custom puzzle with sound effect, and share or send puzzles by e-mail. :P

I found this puzzle software to be appealing but I have not try it yet. I know the free version comes with advertisement.
