Open Source Uninstaller Windows 7?
« on: March 01, 2010, 10:14 AM »
I have been using Revo for a while but now that it has a Pro version I am looking for alternatives.  I would love to know what other folks are using or if anyone knows of an open source uninstaller.

Another question - is Windows 7's uninstaller as slow as XP's?  Do I need a standalone program anymore?

I've used MyUninstaller from NirCmd author.  I haven't benchmarked it or anything but it's nice to have things the same on various Windows flavors instead of trying to remember how each different version of stuff works.  It's a freebie:

+1 for MyUninstaller. No extra crap you'll never use, or some resident watcher process. Just the Windows App Wizard de-crappified.

I don't know if this works on Windows 7, and it seems to have been abandoned in 2005, but it IS open source...

I no longer use the standard uninstaller when I have to work with Windows XP machines.

Another uninstaller similar to MyUninstaller is Free Uninstaller.

I usually go to MyUninstaller as a first option, but occasionally I'll check Free Uninstaller for an alternative look.
