Need help or app for a unique search
« on: January 18, 2010, 03:27 PM »
I need the capability to search a directory that has a lot of subdirectories for those subdirs that do not have a certain file in them. I need to create a list, report, or readout of those subs. To be specific: I need to find those subdirs that do not have *.lrf in them.

Is there an existing search util that will do this for me? I don't speak regex but if that's what it takes, could someone hold my hand a bit? Could it be done in Autohotkey? I also have Directory Opus if that helps.

May work for you, not sure about creating a list unless a screen shot will work.

Yes, a screen listing would suffice.

I see how I could use that to find a file or dir but I don't see how I'd use it to find a dir that did not have the file argument in it.

Looking at it closer I have to agree it does not meet that requirement.
"Folders that do not contain".

Maybe something in here that would work, I haven't tried any of them.
It's a simple google search, watch for reliable sources and check the developer's site.
That's my habit anyway....
